Following HIM and Flowing with HIM

I build a good and strong relationship base on TRUST. I maintain the good and strong relationship and make it better and stronger by keep trusting and can be trusted. When I keep trusting in God because He can be trusted, I keep building a better relationship with Him by knowing Him and experiencing His Word is TRUE. The more I knowing Him the more I know His Will and His Ways, and it makes me know how to do what is right, and to keep doing what is right. Following HIM and flowing with HIM.

So TRUE what I read today: Although Abram had been demonstrating his faith through his actions, it was his belief in the Lord, not his actions, that made Abram right with God. We, too, can have a right relationship with God by trusting him. Our outward actions-church attendance, prayer, good deeds-will not by themselves make us right with God. A right relationship is based on faith–the heartfelt inner confidence that God is who he says he is and does what he says he will do. Right actions will follow naturally as by-products.-LASB

Thank you GOD for tears…

It was on the day when I was sobbing and weeping. With a heart still amazed with the surprise… I had been wondering on what reason the LASB starts its devotion with tears, I was so blessed and very grateful reading the brief devotion following the today’s verse. I started this reading plan on the right time, in His time.

Pouring out his heart with tears, David was completely honest with God. We can be honest with God even when we are filled with anger or despair because God knows us thoroughly and wants the very best for us. Anger may result in rash outward acts or turning inward toward depression. But because we trust in our all-powerful God, we don’t have to be victims of circumstance or be weighted down by the guilt of sin. Be honest with God, and he will help you turn your attention from yourself to him and his mercy.-LASB ® Devotion – Day 1

Find God to tell everything in my heart. He is the right Person who can help with accurately the best. He can use my friends, their best advise, their precious time to listening. He can use a nice place, a pleasant atmosphere, nice ice cream, or nice coffee… . All are God’s effective tools in His mighty loving hands. But He Himself is the very best Friend I can have, He is with me. I am in His hands. Secure.

Walking with GOD always is real. He always keep His promise: to be with me always. In hard times and happy times. He always has time for me. He walks with me and He talks with me, He gives me His wisdom, understanding, insights… to do what is right. To be an upright person before God and man.

No need to be angry…

Do what is right is the best solution God gave to Cain, and to us. No need to be angry. Anger is the door for sin to enter. Do what is right will close the door, and sin cannot enter. Keep doing what is right is the inside attitude we need to have, to keep the door shut. Secure.

“Why are you so angry?” the LORD asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected?

You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”

Continue to believing

“But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.”

The purpose of John in that verse is so that I may continue to believe that Jesus is my Savior, my Redeemer, my Lord, in every moment and season in my life, daily.

And by believing in Him continually I may experiencing His power in every moment and season in my life, daily, as well. Experiencing His power to forgive someone who did wrong and every time when the abusive words come to my mind and hurt my heart, I have His forgiveness power to forgive in His way.

That I may experiencing His power to love difficult people the Lord has put in my life, to love them the way He loves me. He gave His great love when I was a sinner, He doesn’t wait until I am good and upright first. I have His amazing grace power to love in His way.

That I may experiencing His power to accept others, to be kind, to pray, … anything… I really need His power to transform me continually and in continually believing in Him I would be well supplied.

How often should I forgive someone?

“It is my task as God’s child to forgive you 77 x 7,” I wrote to my friend, “but please don’t do it again to others.” I sent it by email, yet that was just a start of doing what Jesus said in Matthew 18:22. I have to go through the tunnel of forgiveness once again. I know it would not be easy.

Psalm 4:4 … a good number to remember, isn’t it? … has helped me, King David said, “Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.” I did it, and I experienced what David said in verse 8, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.”

When I woke up, I got an email from YouVersion about reading plan, I choose the 4 days “forgiveness” plan. It works well. Today I came to this verse that I have quoted and said to my friend. I have been pondering, “How often should I forgive someone?” The answer is still the same… 77×7 … “You will never forgive anyone more than God forgiven you,” said Max Lucado on Twitter today. So true!

FORGIVENESS OUT OF A PRODIGAL HEART

“Eva, I have prayed for you as I sense you are going through a difficult time. I would like to suggest a book to you that might be worth reading. It is called ‘the Prodigal God’ by Tim Keller.” Wrote RB in an email on May 9, 2009, a pastor friend of mine who has a pastoral heart.

I thanked him, and immediately went to a Christian bookstore he suggested, to get that book. When I got the book, I opened it and read in the special page prior to Chapter 1: “prodigal” means recklessly, extravagant, to spend everything … WOW! Beautifully he made the reader go into the truth in Jesus’ parable of a Father who had two lost sons: the selfish youngest son and the self-righteous eldest son.

There is no forgiveness without cost, some one has to pay for it. The elder brother didn’t have the same heart as his Father’s. So we need the true elder brother, Jesus Christ, at His expenses we received the forgiveness we need the most. The Father loves us extravagantly, He gave His only Son—Jesus laid down His life for us. … When I came to that part, I was in tears and was whispering in my heart, “O, Lord, please give me a heart like Yours… .”

The Lord is so gracious to me, as He always is. In answering my prayer, I had to grow through loss and change, I must “work through” them. “Nothing develops our character like handling loss, and the change it brings,” said Bob Gass. It wasn’t easy, but He is with me all the time. He taught me all the lessons needed to, and led me into the depth of His truth.

… Contrary to the local culture the Father graciously grant his youngest son’s request, and then his son left him… deeply grieve caused by the cutting off relationship with his son, … he could neither see nor hear any news from his son, he went through the deep grieve and mourned like his son had passed away although he knew his son still alive, … It made me to understand why in tremendous joy the Father said, “My son was dead and now is alive again!”

The Father didn’t mourn all the time, when the time for mourning was completely over, … only wonderful love out of true forgiveness was in His heart for his son, … It has helped me to see that the most valuable gift the youngest son received from his Father was that kind of love and that kind of forgiveness out of a prodigal heart! Accept it and go into His banquet!

The Father had the same heart, love, and forgiveness for his eldest son, but we didn’t know whether at last he made up his mind to go into the banquet or not … . The Lord Jesus left the story open.

The time for mourning was completely over, … I can only find that kind of love out of true forgiveness in my heart… I could not even trace the scar anymore, perfectly healed!

What’s a time in your life when you felt God’s love?

I have been pondering in answering Holley Gerth’s question in her article, Loved … and in reflection of my today’s journey with my Lord I found…

Today, I felt God’s love in my heart when I read an encouraging message in my Facebook inbox from Neil, Vancouver, Canada, about my postings on my FB wall… ”your messages and words of wisdom continue to be one of inspiration and hope…GOD bless you”

And, I felt God’s love touching my heart when I got a comforting email from Paul in LA, a counselor with a pastoral heart who wrote, “I pray that the Lord blesses your life and ministry always.”

… and there was a time today I felt so blessed by God’s love in my life, when I read again a prayer written by one of my dear best friends in Sydney, Graham, in his “short and sweet” variety email for me:

Let me close praying this prayer for YOU – “Dear Lord Jesus, please guide Your beloved child, Eva, in all she is working on, planning and discussing with different people. Help her to approach all her business and busyness with faith and trust in You, her true Source of Wisdom, Peace and Strength. Bless her richly in the inner man so that her life will be an overflow of the life You have placed within her. Make her a blessing to MANY beginning with her parents and the other members of her family. May You be glorified through the beauty of her life, words and works. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

And following… today, I felt God’s love has touched my heart when I read again my elder brother’s short email, sent on my birthday last July:

Happy birthday, and trusting that He who began the good work in you will carry it on to completion

Today I got an email from one of my very dear old best friends, and I have felt so blessed… so true… and I love to share this to you… be blessed.

God doesn’t have a BlackBerry or an iPhone, but He is my favourite contact. He doesn’t have Facebook, but He is my best friend. He doesn’t have Twitter, but I follow Him and He doesn’t have internet, but I am connected to Him.

What is time?

People think they know time. Do they really know it? Do I know time?

Yesterday I watched a film, “Dear John” played by Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried.

The film got me thinking about time. To give you an idea what I mean by that… It has been more that one year, my one and precious daughter has gone to college overseas. We will meet her from time to time, when she comes home in summer holidays, or when we visit her in the States, or somewhere in this hemisphere. However, the time we had before or in the future will be different. The time she now spend away from me, makes my daughter grows in the way that I know we are no longer big enough for her. Her horizon expand as she learns new things, meet more friends, go places and see more cultures and opportunities. We can’t contain her anymore.

Time moves and changes everyone. So much about what time will do in our relationship with our daughter, how about time with our spouse? We stay married for 24 years now and we have no idea how much time we have left to spend with each other. One thing I do know, I can’t take time for granted anymore. One of us will no longer be together when the Creator calls.

One thing I know though, I live on borrowed time. And how I am going to write my life story with the time I have with my spouse? Only time will tell how wise or unwise I am with the borrowed time.
